Getting Hired at RIM — What you can expect

STEP 1: Online Application

  • The first step in applying for a position at RIM is to fill out the online application form that will provide us with details of your relevant skills and experience.
  • As part of the online application process you will also be asked to attach a copy of your resume.
  • It is important to fill out this application correctly to ensure it can be submitted successfully.
  • Once your application and resume have been submitted it will be reviewed by a RIM Recruiter and depending on your skills and experience, you may be contacted for an interview.

STEP 2: Interview with a Recruiter

  • Since RIM is a global organization and we recruit from most countries in the world, many of our first interviews with applicants are by phone.
  • Should you require accommodation for the first or any subsequent interviews please provide your request to the RIM Recruiter who will ensure your accommodation needs are met.
  • This first conversation with a RIM Recruiter will determine your suitability and availability for employment at RIM. Other details such as your eligibility to work in the selected country will also be discussed. It will also give you an opportunity to ask any questions that you might have.
  • Your application and initial interview results are then submitted to the Hiring Manager for review.

STEP 3: Interviews with Hiring Manager/Team Members

  • The interview format with hiring managers can vary. You may be asked to participate in one or more behavioral based interviews with the hiring manager and team member
  • This interview is normally conducted in person. On occasion this stage of the interview process is conducted over the phone
  • Should you require accommodation for your interview with the hiring manager, please provide your request to the RIM Recruiter who will ensure your accommodation needs are met.
  • This interview is a great opportunity for you to better understand the position you are applying for, and allow you to hear first hand what it’s like to work at RIM!

STEP 4: Offer of Employment

  • If you have been identified as the successful candidate for the position you will be given a conditional offer of employment.
  • All offers of employment from RIM are conditional upon you successfully meeting the requirements of our referencing and background check process.
  • Your offer will first be presented to you verbally over the phone to ensure that you are generally in acceptance of the terms and conditions of the offer.
  • You will then be sent an offer package that will provide more details of the total rewards offering you will be given and will ask for permission for reference and background checks to be completed.

STEP 5: Reference and Background Checks

  • All offers of employment from RIM are conditional upon you successfully meeting the requirements of our referencing and background check process.
  • If you have been selected as the successful candidate for the role, you may be asked for your permission to have a background check completed.
  • Once you have accepted RIM’s offer of employment and notified your current employer, RIM will also conduct a confirmation of employment with your current employer.
  • Once you have successfully met the reference and background check requirements, your offer of employment is confirmed and you may resign from your current role.
  • We recommend that you do not resign until you have been given notice from RIM that the checks are satisfactorily completed.

STEP 6: Onboarding

  • RIM provides all new employees with an Orientation on their first day of employment. Attending Orientation will ensure that you have all that is needed to be successful when you first start at RIM. This session will also allow you to meet other new RIM employees just like you!
  • You will be provided more details on Orientation once you have sent back your accepted offer.
